Drive from Addis Ababa (7–8 hrs) south to Dinsho, the gateway to Bale Mountains National Park.
Stop en route at Lake Ziway for birdwatching.
At Dinsho, visit the park HQ, meet your local guide, and take a short hike to spot endemic species like the Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck.
Overnight: community lodge or camping near Dinsho.
Begin trekking through juniper and Hagenia forests into open grasslands.
Spot warthogs, Nyala, and numerous birds.
Camp at Sodota, near the Web River, with views of the surrounding valleys.
Trek through Afro-alpine landscapes, passing volcanic ridges and meadows.
Cross streams and enjoy panoramic views of the Sanetti Plateau.
Arrive at Wasema Valley campsite, beneath towering rock cliffs.
Climb gradually onto the Sanetti Plateau (over 4,000m).

Overnight at Rira community lodge or campsit
After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa via Goba and Shashemene.
Optional stop at Lake Langano for lunch and relaxation before continuing.
Evening arrival in Addis Ababa; transfer to hotel or airport.
