Your journey begins with a flight from Addis Ababa to Semera. Upon arrival, you will embark on a five-to-six-hour drive through the Afar region to Hamed Ela. Along the way, you will make a stop at the stunning Lake Afdera, a natural salt lake with warm waters, perfect for a refreshing swim. As the journey continues, you will head towards the camping village of Hamed Ela, a gateway to the Danakil Depression’s incredible geological wonders. In the evening, you will visit Lake Asale, a vast expanse of salt flats, where the setting sun casts a golden glow over the crystalline formations. Overnight: Open-air camping at Hamed Ela
After breakfast, you will drive to the fascinating Dalol Depression, one of the lowest points on Earth at 125 meters below sea level.
